The Ohio State University School of Communication with the newly formed Journalism and Communication Department at the University of Gondar worked in tandem to develop a journalism curriculum at the graduate level through the U.S. Embassy’s Linkage Seed Grant program.
Nicole Kraft, assistant professor at the School of Communication, and Mustofa Worku, head of Gondar’s new program, will used the seed grant award to set up a journalism laboratory, complete with laptops, and video and audio recording equipment. In addition, Kraft and Worku are collaborated with Park University, Missouri, to develop the graduate journalism curriculum.
As part of Ohio State’s Global One Health initiative, Kraft also built a curriculum that will allow for better understanding and coverage of One Health communication topics.
