“Being part of a large campus, I think that’s one of my fondest memories. The breadth of courses that Ohio State offers is unparalleled,” recalls Vishwanath Swarup, ‘04 MS industrial and systems engineering. Ohio State’s flexibility in course offerings allowed Swarup take courses at the Fisher College of Business while being a student in the College of Engineering.
His training at Ohio State helped prepare him for successful career as a P&L (profit and loss) executive who manages a team of 1,700 people developing a range of biological, biotech and pharmaceutical products at Bharat Serums and Vaccines Limited (BSV). Swarup developed his leadership skills by serving in various roles at top companies in the United States and India including Pfizer, McKinsey, Max Bupa, and Abbott.
As Chief Operating Officer India, Swarup creates a safe environment for his team to succeed and flourish. A 50-year old organization, BSV was instrumental in curbing black fungus (mucormycosis) during the COVID-19 pandemic, a satisfying accomplishment for Swarup.
An avid football fan, Swarup loves to catch up with other Buckeyes whenever he gets a chance. He fondly reminisces about memories from his time on campus, learning experiences and the amazing culture at Ohio State.
