India Gateway Alumni Reception, December 2023

In collaboration with the College of Arts and Sciences, the India Gateway hosted a heartwarming alumni reception in Mumbai in December that fostered nostalgia and camaraderie among the Buckeyes who attended. Alumni from diverse disciplines, including engineering, business and arts and sciences, relished the opportunity to reconnect.

As the guest of honor, alumnus Madhav Chavan ’83 PhD, recipient of the prestigious Robert M. Duncan Citizenship Award 2023, was presented with the Ohio State "Time & Change" book by India Gateway Director Shambhavi Singh. She highlighted Chavan’s exceptional achievements in providing high-quality, low-cost learning to underprivileged children in his native India. Notably, Madhav is the the first international recipient of this esteemed Ohio State Alumni Association award, making the moment truly special for everyone in attendance.

The reception underscored the significance of alumni connections in furthering the university's global impact and reinforced the bonds that make the Ohio State community truly exceptional.
